Ancaman Budaya Populer terhadap Pelestarian Budaya Maena di Desa Lologolu Kecamatan Mandrehe Kabupaten Nias Barat

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dampak perkembangan budaya populer, khususnya yang bersumber dari budaya barat, terhadap pelestarian budaya maena di Desa Lologolu. Fokusnya adalah pada peningkatan minat masyarakat, khususnya generasi muda, pada budaya pop barat yang mengakibatkan pengabaian tradisi budaya Nias, dan upaya penatua adat dalam menangkal pengaruh budaya populer. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan sumber data utama dari penatua adat dan pemuda di Desa Lologolu, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak lima orang, dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Penelitian menemukan bahwa pengaruh budaya pop barat, yang disebarkan melalui media massa dan media sosial, telah signifikan dalam membentuk pandangan dan preferensi generasi muda di Desa Lologolu. Budaya Nias mulai dipandang sebagai kuno dan tidak relevan, sementara budaya pop barat dianggap lebih menarik dan modern. Penatua adat telah mengambil langkah-langkah strategis untuk menangkal pengaruh ini melalui edukasi dan promosi budaya Nias, pembatasan penampilan budaya barat dalam acara penting, dan pemberdayaan generasi muda. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan pentingnya pendidikan budaya dan pemberdayaan generasi muda dalam upaya pelestarian budaya maena di Desa Lologolu. Diperlukan strategi adaptasi budaya yang efektif untuk mempertahankan esensi dan nilai-nilai budaya Nias di tengah tantangan globalisasi dan transformasi budaya.
